Snapshots...
Hello!
Just thought I would share a sneek peek of what I have been working on!
A fun polka-dot dress, being blocked ready for...
...the little bunny who these little feet belong to!
I can't believe it's December already, but at least I am on schedule with my Christmas knitting!

Monday Meanderings...
Wow! Long time no speak!
Apologies for the absense... between having schoolwork, and visiting with family, and just generally being busy, blogging has fallen by the wayside!
But I have been keeping up with those I read, and here are some things I have seen that I rather liked...
This is really clever.
Something to think about...
I can believe the talent of this guy - so awesome!
Pretty, pretty, pretty.
This and this - so me!
Seeing these everywhere... which means that I completely agree with this!
1 month until Christmas! I have been busy present knitting... perhaps I will show you a sneak peak or two soon... :-P
Have a good week! :-)

Project update...
You know when you complete a project, and you have the thought: "I should take a picture of that for my Ravelry page!"... and then you never do?
Well I am completely guilty of that!!! I have so many projects which need pictures, so this weekend my boyfriend and I decided to head over to the park...
My Rainy Day Scarf...
My Can Can Scarf...
My So Called Scarf...
...and a pair of lovely Fluffy Mittens!!
All photos are courtesy of my lovely guy, who waited patiently as I arranged each scarf in "just the right way" so to best show off the stitch pattern! :-)

Friday Link Love...
Phew! It's been such a hectic week, but in the midst of it all, I've managed to find some cool links for you, my lovely readers :-)
I'm forever being asked how double-pointed needles work... here are some tips!
A lovely description of my favourite season...
This made me laugh so much!
I really want to knit this.
This house is kinda neat...
A reminder that there is more to people than we realise...
And lastly, I hope my weekend can look like this!
Hope you have a lovely weekend :-)

Lazy Autumn Days
I love the outdoors at this time of year! Everything is so beautiful, breaking out in bright, fiery colours. So when I got a rare quiet morning this weekend, I decided to visit a nearby lake...
Seeing the changing colours...
And after a lovely walk in the crunchy leaves...
Some cozying up with my pile of WIPs... (see? I have been knitting and working on things!)

Scattered leaves everywhere...
Little pearly raindrops on everything...
And after a lovely walk in the crunchy leaves...
There is nothing like a bowl of hot vegetable soup!
Some cozying up with my pile of WIPs... (see? I have been knitting and working on things!)
As well as making the acquaintance of a lovely little bunny!

A bunny is born...
I am still here! Been busy playing with yarn and starting an adorable little bunny... as well as some Christmas knitting which I can't show you in case they read this blog! :-P

Saturday Somethings...
So so sorry for the silence! Things should hopefully pick up when I can get an afternoon with my camera :-)
In the mean time, here are a few cool things to enjoy...
These words are so true.
If you like the sound of extreme finger painting, look here!
I have to try all of these delicious options.

I've got mail!
Does anyone remember that movie? I recently watched it, and it's timeless. Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks are such a good movie pairing, and perfectly epitomises the reason for this post - the excitement of getting mail!
I love when things arrive in the mail, and no more so when it is a pile of squishy yarny goodness!!!
Look at this lovely stuff - doesn't it look amazing?
It is to make one of these little bunnies, designed by Julie from Little Cotton Rabbits. The pattern can be found on Ravelry - go have a look...
Aren't they adorable??? I can't wait to make one, as well as a cute little wardrobe of dresses to match!!

Friday Link Love
Hello!
Things have been a bit hectic around here this week, what with back to school season and all... in the meantime, here are a few links I've loved this week.
This is awesome.
Some good advice about seizing the day.
I'm quite liking these words too.
I shall be back soon with lots of socks to show you, and some other yarny goodness :-)

Friday Link Love
Some snippets of things I've liked around the interwebz:
Granny square blankets have been popular this year - I particularly like this one.
These socks - major love.
This lady always posts amazing quotes, and this one is no exception.
Inspiring images to be found here, here and here.
These dresses made me long for an era of ballrooms and beautiful dresses.
Have a good weekend!

A bit of stitching...
As you can probably already tell, my interest in hand-stitching is not limited purely to knitting. Every so often, some patchwork will catch my attention, and these hexagons called to be worked on a few weeks ago.
Now this attempt is not their first incarnation - I have been pulling these out every few years, trying to decide what they would become.
Hexagons in rainbow order? Couldn't find an arrangement I liked.
Completely scrappy? Not enough order.
Stripes of colour? Didn't like it.
Eventually, my love of the traditional led me to a final decision - a grandmothers flower garden quilt.
Ready to be turned into something...
Don't they look pretty?? I do love a nice stack of hexies...
Taking their first steps towards becoming a quilt.

A bit of knitting...
"Finally!" I'm hearing you say - some knitting content!
A few years ago there was a small baby boom amongst people I know. So, like any good knitter, I decided to gift to each of them a pair of baby booties or two. Of course, this left some scraps of yarn and nothing to turn them into... until these...
Some charity baby hats, knit for preemie babies born locally. I'm hoping they can bring some comfort and warmth to some of the new additions here in the UK.

The Moors...
A visit to Yorkshire just wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Moors. It is such a beautiful landscape to visit, drive through, and as we did, take a walk across.
It was so lovely to see fields for miles and miles... here you can see Danby Castle, with a rich history and beautiful views.
A pretty railway line...
Interesting details...
And of course... for the knitters (as this was supposed to be a knitting blog!) some lovely sheep!
Such a lovely county with very friendly people! I shall definitely be visiting again to see what else this beautiful corner of England has to offer :-)

Adventures in Yorkshire
If there is one thing about Yorkshire, it is its diverse landscape. The roads are steep and winding, the moors purple with heather, and altogether it makes for very dramatic viewing as you travel throughout the county. While we were there we visited all sorts of terrain - among those were Seaham beach and Dalby Forest.
Seaham beach was a lovely day out, and one with a story! Apparently there was a glass factory in the area during the Victorian era, and any offcuts or odds were thrown into the sea. Since then, the sea has tossed the glass pieces around enough to make beach glass, tiny pebbles of glass which can easily be found washed up in the area.
As you can see - we found quite a lot!
Another day out was to Dalby Forest, and oh this was simply stunning - there is nothing more fun than getting lost amongst the trees! The light streaming through the trees helped us to find our way along the path...
There is so many more pictures I could share but I couldn't choose! I shall share my experience of the moors next time...

There was something enchanting around every corner: a clearing we came across was fun as we tried to hear our echoes over the sea of pine trees... and this little place here - a beautiful lake.

The Holiday
Mine, not the film!
This year saw my family and I drive up north to visit the beautiful county of Yorkshire. I had never been there before, but of course being a big fan of Wuthering Heights, I was intrigued to see what it was like! There really was something for everyone (as you'll see in future posts).
It was a lovely holiday, and was a much needed break from urban life! Sometimes it's nice to reconnect with nature, step back, and take a break...
Enjoy the beauty of seascapes...
Take a sunset walk in golden fields...
Enjoy some tunes...
Spend time away from screens...
And enjoy a visit from a nosy chicken or two!
More pictures and adventures to come soon, or you can pop over here to see what else we got up to...

Welcome September
It's that time of year again! The time when leaves change, the time for new school supplies, the time for pumpkin spice lattes... I just love the first of September.
Looking forward to fluffy socks, Hot Chocolate, thanksgiving, pumpkin everything (and I mean everything), knitted goodness, wrapping up warm with patchwork quilts, chai tea, walks in forests blazing with colour, cosy movie nights with friends, stews and soups, homemade bread, and so much more!
Welcome autumn, I've missed you!

Friday Link Love (on a Saturday!)
So! What has caught my attention this week?
Have a look...
This makes me want to go write a pile of good ol' fashioned letters.
I need to paint one of these on my wall!
Some female empowerment here and here.
I love Emma's recipes, and this is the latest one I want to try!
Cafe Culture - have you bought into it?
Have a nice weekend!!

Field Trip!
Last week I went with these lovely two ladies to The Festival of Quilts in Birmingham. It was a lovely day out, and very inspiring! So many pretty things to see!
As well as purchasing some needles and thread (and maybe some fabric!), as you do at these kinds of things, I also had a wander around the quilt show. There was so much talent shown there, and if I could I would share so many more pictures!
As it is, here are a handful of my favourite things - I could sense a few themes in what my eye was drawn to!
First up - quilting! There were some lovely examples of wholecloth quilts...
Blanket Stitch also featured...
All I seemed to take photos of were stars, stars, stars!
It was an absolutely fantastic day out, and has left me wanting to get a move on with some of my WIPs! :-P

I particularly loved this one (below), submitted by Spain in the EQA exhibition.
And last, but not least, Hexies! Hexagons have taken the quilting world by storm, and are a favourite of mine - keep your eyes out for an upcoming post about my take on the hexagon craze!
In the meantime, look at these lovely examples!!!

Hello! As per usual, here are a few things from around the interwebz that I have liked this week:
I adore this outfit of Katie's!
Here are some words of wisdom - useful for anyone, not just students!
Something to think about... and this is too!
Beautiful words.
This is adorable :-)
Have a great weekend!

Doin' the Bunnyhop!
Voila! My latest pair of socks-in-progress! They are an identical pair to these ones, made out of a love of the pattern and a spare ball of the lovely soft blue yarn!
The socks in progress...
Another close-up of the eyelet pattern - I love the slipped stitches as well... they add another interesting detail!
Pattern: Bunny Hop Socks by Cathy Campbell
Yarn: 1 ball Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Worsted
Needles: 3.75mm DPNs
It's such a lovely pattern, and they knit up so quickly! :-)

A trip to Oxford...
A few weeks ago, I had the good fortune to meet up with some good friends of mine in the beautiful city of Oxford. Not sure of what to do, we sheltered from the rain to have some lunch before deciding on the Pitt Rivers Museum. I was unable to take pictures in the museum, but I assure you it is well worth a visit - it is a treasure trove of interesting artifacts from around the world, ranging from jewellery, to intricate wrought-iron keys, to weaponry and transport.
Luckily, I snapped a few photos on our way to the museum - just a few things that caught my eye...
...a lovely old building... just one of several in Oxford!
One of the stone heads guarding the University...
...and this mysterious doorway! I've no idea where it leads to, but there is something intriguing about this lone doorway... :-)
It was a lovely day and it was great to catch up with some lovely people who I hadn't seen in a while! :-)

I've caved!
Okay, I'll admit it! I've given in! I've joined Pinterest!
I've resisted it for quite a while - I knew that once I joined, I would get lost in the world of pretty pictures, funny memes, and DIY links, and nobody would see me for days!!!
But alas, like any other crafty gal, I just couldn't resist the allure of another source of inspiration... :-)
You can find me here.
Hope you're having a good week!

Friday Link Love...
...And a Friday Finish as well! Look!
Can you tell what it is??
How about now??
Ta-da! It's a pair of Jaywalker Socks by Grumperina!
I loved knitting these socks! They were quick to knit up, and quite fun as well! Very happy with these :-)
Full pattern notes can be found here.
Just a few things that have caught my eye:
This space is so pretty, and this one is lovely too...
Have you seen this interview with Dustin Hoffman?
A pretty quote and a pretty picture...
Couldn't agree with Plato more, and on that note, this is a good list to start you off with...
I really want to go camping!
Some knitterly goodness here and here.
Have a nice weekend!
