I can see the end of the rainbow...

So you know the bright rainbow socks from here and here?
Well... I am on to the second sock!

Of course, this picture was taken before I spent all of yesterday knitting... so I am actually quite a bit further on than this - I am in the process of turning the heel, so hopefully I should have a finished pair of socks to show you very soon!

Ravelry info here.

Friday Link Love...

This week will be a simple one... there have been many great authors, poets and speakers throughout history, including the late Maya Angelou. I have always loved many quotes from her, so in memory, I thought I would share some this week.

A nice reminder to stay positive, to always be yourself, and to not be afraid to sing to our own tune.

A knitted hug...

Sometimes the best thing is a hug, whether that be literally, or quilted, or in this case, knitted!

In our knitting group, it's main purpose is to make charity knits for those in need. We help with many different projects, but one that has been our focus in the past few weeks is putting together knitted blankets for a local hospice. We had 134 knitted squares, which needed to be sewn into blankets. So we all took some home and over 3 nights with chocolate and a good TV show I managed to get it all sewn together and the ends woven in.
Hopefully someone will get some comfort from this knitted hug :-)

Saturday Somethings...

Okay, so I know that Friday Link Love is a little late this week... but I promise it will make you smile. Mindfulness and positivity have been key to surviving exam time, and so this is the focus of this week's Link Love!
Enjoy!

Some wise words to live in the moment.
This picture and quote are so calming...
Even the greatest people know to enjoy the simple things.
Something woolly to make you smile.

Hope you are having a lovely and restful weekend :-)

Signing off another project...

Tada!! So if you've been wondering why I've been so quiet, this quilt is the reason why! Between this and exam revision, things have been quite busy!

The blocks are signature swap blocks done with a local quilt group (plus one added in by my sister). It has been lovely to work on while at Uni, a nice reminder of my friends and family back home :-)
It is machine pieced and entirely hand quilted - the centre (see below) was inspired by the wonderful wholecloth quilts seen at Festival of Quilts last year (blogged about here).

It took a while, but I'm very pleased with it! :-)

Friday Link Love...

Hello all! I hope you've had a wonderful week!
Here are some links for you to enjoy :-)

Pretty bright-coloured houses and this quote - George Harrison was a very cool person :-)
I'm loving all these lovely photos...
This is cool - but what a lot of effort!
This quote is really nice.

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday...

I love this time of year... the world becomes multi-coloured as all the flowers bloom into life - and we're due for warmer weather in the coming days...
Dare I say it?
Welcome Summer!!

Friday Link Love (Bumper Edition)

So I have been quite busy, but still reading around the web, and now I have quite a few links to share with you all!

I'm always interested in seeing what other people create... both these and these are awesome.
Spreading introvert awareness - loved it!
This is so pretty!
Any excuse to go to the great outdoors!
Some wise words here and here.
This is really interesting!
Beautiful beautiful words.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
