The Big Reveal...

Hi everyone!
So whilst I've been sniffling away here (hello cold and flu season!) you've all been making some rather wonderful guesses as to what these crochet motifs were for...

There have been many guesses that it is for a blanket, and although that is a great idea (I'd totally love to make an African Flower blanket!)... that's not what they are for...
I've had a guess that they are tea coasters... again, a great idea - they would be so pretty! - but not what they are for...
So do you want to know?

Tada!

These are going to be put around campus - a mini-yarnbomb if you will, as a way to advertise our knitting group to the new students. Fingers crossed they'll entice some people to come and have some fun with some yarn!
I'm hoping to have them up in the next few days, so maybe I'll take some pictures to show you :-)

Freshers' Week is nearly upon us, so if I'm quiet, it's simply because I'm trying to recruit lots of new knitters! :-P

FO: Matinee Baby Jumper

I'm sure you remember the baby sweater from a few weeks ago... well here it is completely finished, ribbon and all!

This was a quick and easy knit, but I'm not sure I would make it again. I found it quite boring to knit as the majority of it was a plain garter stitch. I do, however, like the ribbon detail - it makes it very cute :-)
I think perhaps this is more of a feminine knit - something more unisex may have been better, as we don't know the gender of the new arrival yet!
I am pleased with the result though, and hope it is equally appreciated by the recipient :-)

Friday Link Love

Hello!
Are you all still guessing about those squares and crocheted motifs? I promise all will be revealed soon :-)

In the meantime, how about some Friday Links?

This is a cool transformation (Can you spot the sewing machine?)

We are heading into my favourite time of year, and I can't wait!

Some beautiful photography...

Something for your inner Harry Potter geek :-)

This story is beautiful - we could all do with a bit of positivity!

Something for Monday...

Have a great weekend!

Top Secret WIPs...

If you've wondering why I was so quiet last week, it's because I've been working on some top secret knitting and crocheting for the upcoming school year...

Hmm, I wonder what these squares will become?

I have also been honing my crochet skills to make 28 of these little motifs...
Some granny squares...

And some African flowers... (Pattern HERE)

Can you guess what they are for??

Friday Funny...

As you know, I recently went away on a trip to the Cotswolds. There were many funny moments during the holiday, but I thought I might share one that particularly made me giggle, thanks to this beauty:

We were walking along, when all of a sudden I see her:

Me: Oh my goodness, no way!!
Boyfriend: What?
Me: It's her! It's the neighbelline horse!!
Boyfriend: The what?
Me: The Neighbelline horse! You know, like the commercial! ((Starts singing)) Maybe it's neighbelline!
Boyfriend just looks confused.
Me: Seriously? You haven't seen the meme? You're missing so much by not being on Pinterest.

I proceeded to take several pictures anyway - how could I not when it was Pinterest royalty?

The original meme can be seen HERE.
