Happy Easter!

Hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend!
I have been working on a few different projects which I hope to show you soon! Things have been a little bit busy but as soon as I get a chance to take pictures I will resume with the usual posting schedule!

Friday Link Love...

I'm really loving the little things this week: a nice cup of tea, a bit of sunshine on a cloudy day, good friends, good food... just the simple things that make you smile :-)
Hope these links make you smile too!

This is so true - sometimes simplicity is best.
I am a fan of this idea: something that gets us away from screens and helps a good cause? Excellent!
A bunch of awesome.
This room looks cozy...
The end of term is nearly here - can't wait to relax with a hot drink.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Somewhere over the rainbow...

Ta-da! My latest project - Rainbow Socks!
I'm just using a simple vanilla sock pattern, and letting the yarn speak for itself. I LOVE the bright colours - nice and cheerful amongst the April showers outside!

I'm not going to worry about matching the stripes for these ones... I'll just let them be springy, whimsical rainbow-y fun :-)

Socks...

So I finally decided that it was about time to invest in some sock blockers, and they were put to good use as soon as they arrived in the post!
My Ravelry project page was lacking in photos, so I decided to take the opportunity to properly block some old and new projects, so that they could be photographed too...

Friday Link Love...

Just a few for you this week...

I love this blog - her socks! So pretty!
This is kind of cool...
A very inspiring quote - it doesn't matter if we're good at art, but creating can be good for the soul.
I'm learning how to crochet so that I can try to make things like this, this, and this.

Hope you have a good weekend!

How about a hat?

Tada! Something other than socks!
One of my coursemates at Uni found out I could knit the other week, and so I got the typical question of:

"Oh, could you knit me a... ?"

Of course I couldn't say no, as I love any excuse to knit, and as I am trying to improve my hat knitting skills, I figured this would be quite beneficial to me too.

So here it is! A striped hat for a 2-year old in the colours of the requested football team...

Pattern: My own.
Yarn: James C. Brett DK
Needles: 4mm circular

This was so fun to knit - It was quick and easy, and I learnt how to jogless stripes in the round, and how to carry yarn up the back of the work in the round as well :-)
I couldn't have done it without the help of Stephanie Pearl-McPhee's Knitting Rules - it provided lots of useful tips, tricks and advised measurements! :-)
I'm hoping the recipient will be as happy with it as I am!
